Illinois is about to enter an eleventh month without a budget. Each day that the budget stalemate goes by it causes more damage to families, communities, and small businesses. Services that make our communities healthy, safe, and strong are being dismantled. Opportunity and independence is lost for children, students, seniors, families, immigrants, and people with disabilities.
That’s why the Responsible Budget Coalition is organizing an opportunity for community leaders to come closer together and organize efforts at the local level to end this budget crisis once and for all. Our state leaders must put non-budget agendas aside and choose revenue (not more cuts) to fully-fund services our families and communities rely on.
Attend in order to…
- Gain an increased understanding of the challenges families, providers, and communities are facing
- Participate in interactive trainings demonstrating how to speak about the budget impasse with media, lawmakers, and colleagues, with numbers & facts to back up your passion
- Connect & network with other leaders across service sectors
- Plan collective advocacy to push state leaders to pass a responsible budget
Dinner provided. Bring your appetite along with your passion for change.
